I think he fainted because she said Fallout after Rage.

This… is so very classically a “Ethan” thing to do. Gonna be honest though, while I can TOTALLY see Ethan1.0 doing it, I did not expect Ethan2.0 to do this. I could see him saying that he feels faint, but not literally passing out, that level of melodrama is more something I’d expect from past Ethan.

That was exactly what I thought. “Are we back in 1.0?”

Ey, what just happend?

Besides that, if the last panels aren’t play-acting, Emily has nothing to do with Zeke.
There is only the problem, what will happen if Ethan get killed on a date and respawns?
This could be a really awkward situation.

Well getting killed on a date is usually a pretty awkward situation, and people tend to get around it.

Rage absolutely sucks. She’s fine.

Rage is fun but nothing I would end relationships for if somebody didn’t liked it. Fallout, eh, I can see why people liked it but I never got into it.

Sadly my parents (Each approaching 70) despise the very concept of the game. Because they grew up in the 50’s and the threat of not quite annihilation. And they don’t see their childhoods as a quaint period to explore after it was nuked.

That’s actually an interesting perspective. I never thought about how those that remember the Cold War well enough would feel about a game like Fallout.

The irony there being that the people that created the series grew up during that period.

Here in Ottawa we have the Diefenbunker museum, an old fallout shelter that would have housed the Canadian government in case of nuclear war. To visit it, after playing Fallout games, is a serious “Holy Shit” experience because it does add a touch of reality regarding just how bad things could have turned out..

I never thought about that either, but I grew up during the Cold War and I enjoy the heck out of post-apocalyptic games and fiction…

Really? Because my grandmother (72) loves it for the same reason. She told me that the preservation of technology through global destruction is loveable and started to go great lengths into what things Fallout are as they would imagine them back in 50’s and 60’s and what are a complete miss. That said, it’s a granny who asked me if learning Python is easier over Java, since she can’t hold needle for embroidery, so maybe not the best example of “normal grandma” on the block.

Its so funny, I completely relate to this in my life. My GF loves games like Skyrim, but can’t stand Fallout. I love Jrpgs, she kind of just tolerates them.

I also get this. I have a friend who loves Skyrim but can’t get past vault 111 in FO4. Mean while I love F)4 and keep replaying it. But struggle to get attached to Skyrim.

I can just imagine when Scott and Lucas hears about this them trolling Ethan about not liking those games either just to make him crazy.

Also if Emily ever wanted to end a argument or something she could always pull the “All the Fallout Games sucks!” card. XD

I have a picture of them replacing all the front display games with copies of Rage and Fallout games….or changing his gamer tag to Rage4Fallout….or replacing his system with one that only has waves for those and other games he hates……

To be FAIR… she’s probably only been exposed to Fallout 3 and 4. If those were the Fallouts I were first exposed to, I’d have the same opinion. Hook her up with Fallout: NV, or 1 and 2 and she’d be on board.

Well, it was fun while it lasted. At this point, the only way to apologize is to talk about how much of a letdown Andromeda was after the first three Mass Effect games….

Look, we KNEW she was going to be a supervillian – why is this a surprise? Plus with Fallout 76 coming up, they really won’t have anything in common.

Man, I first thought this was a side-effect of his superpower, but then it was just shock that she doesn’t like the Post-Apo games that he loves. XDDD
Let’s hope Ethan grows on that and that he does not end this relationship just because of different game tastes.^^

Actually, I think your first instinct was right. Disparaging the games he likes is Ethan’s kryptonite! This will be a powerful tool in villains’ arsenals…

If I remember correctly, mentioning Fallout will cause Ethan to have a psychological breakdown and/or fainting.
So this is disturbingly accurate for him.

Ethan should bear in mind that the reporter that he’s all gaga over, probably doesn’t like games at all. he might never wake up from that one.

Depends for me… I don’t care for some of the more serious ones, but on the other hand I do find them to be a generally positive thing in that it says humanity will, at least in some way, survive the end of civilization.

If they get too grimdark though it turns me off. If I wanted stories about how the world is fucked and we’re all going to die in a rain of nuclear fire I’d turn on CNN.

On a semi-unrelated subject, if Ethan gets sick and kills himself, does he respawn healthy or with a cold?

Taylor Walden

Well he had a broken arm and decided to stab himself in the throat so his arm would play video games again so I’d assume he’d come back healthy.
