If Lucas reacts like this I can’t wait to see Scott’s reaction. xD

Hey Lucas still paints models and it looks like it is Commander Shadowsun of the T’au Empire

Oh. That makes sense. I thought it was some sort of anime furry with a weapon. Your answer is better.

So, Lucas is a Tau player. Nice!

And Ethan should know better than delivering shocking news to someone, who is painting a mini. Good thing, that Lucas froze instead of reacting vividly, cause spoiling Shadowsun is not a good thing

Taus? Is he painting Taus? Ok, I’m done, I can’t deal with so many changes

Yeah, I mean: What happend to his Warmachine/Hordes miniatures?

(Okay, that was before the relaunch, but still.)

It’s not entirely new. Warhammer 40000 and later Warmachines Hordes were part of the old series since 2006.
I think it started here:

It’s even mentioned in the reboot that their store sells tabletop.

Right, he played Tau before too, I only remembered Space Marines (and Ethan ‘s Necron ball)

He asks for access to the WiFi… Sure why not? Just let Scott create a separate VLAN without internet access. Create a nice home server to provide a local copy of Wikipedia and done!

Obviously I don’t know.. but I suspect.. Zeke is lying.. but not for malicious reasons. I suspect that he does not have new information.. but that he knows where to get it.. online. And that getting his help and relative loyalty is just a matter of trusting him.
But I am a glass half full kind of person, I may be WAY off. =)

Even if the glass is half full (or entirely full)… how so you know what’s in it?

And now that we know his capacity if fairly finite (don’t ask me how that works if you want to be credited as sentient) and he’ll forget how to kill anything after caching enough other information.

I like the idea that they just need to keep throwing video games at people until he forgets how to *actually* kill people.

Interesting this did not seem to come up.
But turning on Zeke’s Wifi is a terrible idea. The Master might be able to reassert control. Too many openings to Zeke’s brain.
A wifi connected computer or console? Chances of the Master having a visual input override command are far less likely. As in if he could do that too, then the bomb in his head would not have be necessary.
Sure Zeke could find out how asinine humanity can be. But we also try to be better and to help.

So done intelligently I think could be a worthwhile gamble.

I don’t see how it could really be done intelligently. Regardless of how good Scott is, it’s been shown that he can be bypassed. Once Zeke is connected he could, theoretically, upload himself somewhere else. The failsafe is no longer an option and he is completely free. At that point I don’t believe he will give up on his decision to murder people just because he can play more video games.

What other hardware runs murderbots, besides what The Master has?

It doesn’t have to run murderbots, it only has to contain his programming.

Eldest Gruff

Arguably, it has to RUN his programming as well. Scott already said before that he couldn’t really shut the X1 down without potentially causing damage. The basics of X1’s programming is that it itself evolves and changes over time, so even if it originally was designed with a start up / shut down process, doesn’t mean that it can bring it back to where it is today. In addition – even assuming he CAN back himself up elsewhere, without access to hardware that can run his program and give him agency, he’s essentially trusting his freedom and life to a… Read more »

This is a world that contains, amongst other things, Scott and The Master. It is actually pretty reasonable to assume there are greater capabilities. I never said he would immediately try to escape but it would be easier for him to be sure.

There’s also the old issue of ‘too many of me’. Calvin tried that with the Duplicator and found it to be a heck of a bad idea because the various clones competed and got up to all sorts of things which drew attention. Zeke might have the same issue.

They could just give him a laptop with WiFi access… It doesn’t need to be him having intrinsic access… I don’t even know what word to use in this situation ?.

Anyway… Sooner or later they will need to start trusting him. He hasn’t gone kaboom… Meaning he hasn’t left the boundaries… He’s actually being rather acceptive…

Though that isn’t the stated purpose and reason X1 wants to do it. Access via another system wouldn’t meet his demands, I think.

The trauma of the plot hole hurts, modern wifi are so easy to crack even by humans that the super AI machine can’t crack it or any of the neighbours WiFi’s ?

Atleast make the plot be, that the AI is testing the humans to see if they can be trusted to treat it as anything but a dangerous weapon.

Plenty. Just an easy one: Email to [Insert Villain X]; Hello, These guys are Analog and D-Pad, address here and here, feel free to come to over and mess them up some time. I would ask to bring popcorn, but my superior mechanical interior does not require nutrients.

The Master already knows their identities and where they live, presumably he also knows where they work.

The only new information to him would be that X1 is still operational.

The robot wants data? Sneakernet it in and put it on a local drive available to him.

Stephen

I wonder how much of the Internet he actually wants to access? For example, if all he wants is access to a ton of movies and stuff someone could set up a Plex server for him and dump basically everything they could pirate onto it, but still keep it restricted to local stuff only.

Maybe they should get him a subscription to print media, whatever is relevant in that case, and have his realm turn into a library.
