That’s not Troll Prime it seems.

I don’t think there’s any hostages. Just a situation of the Troll trying to cover Ethan in that goop.

There’s green on the neck, ear, and forehead. Doubt any copycat would know to replicate that detail.

Forgot about his wrist. There is green there too.

Good eye. So this is Troll Prime. I wonder what that green goo will do. Disfigure like himself? I would imagine the troll to have a little more interesting ideas. Or does it interact with super powers?

You’d be surprised how detailed trolls can be if they wanna fuck with you

Not copycat but co-conspirator. Remember, that the original went to the internet and shared everything with other likeminded. So anything the original knows, the others potentially also know.

Yeah pretty sure this is the real troll though I suspect the “hostages” are probably actually his followers pretending to be innocent civilian

In true troll fashion I would expect troll prime to leave out certain self incrimidating detials though. The average grunt in the troll army probably only knows that troll prime is disfigured, but shaky on the detials. There’s also a chance the average grunt might even get cold feet at the prospect of causing actual terrorism and the potential of becoming a suicide bomber. It’s one thing to fuck with analog and play head games, another thing entirely to strap explosives to hostages and yourself. But the higher ups? The ones that were on the trolls side before he took… Read more »

Minor nitpick: It’s ‘incriminating’, not ‘incrimidating’

He would if Troll Prime told them, people at the hospital would know the Trolls physical condition, which would be passed on to the police and possibly super-heroes. If the Troll is going to send a decoy he’s not going to take a the chance of someone spotting healthy exposed skin.

That would depend on when exactly his skin turned green. He was probably still horribly burned/recovering/mutating when they bandaged him up, so they might not know what his final form eventually turned into. .

In any case his current condition is not known, so there’s no real need to green up any decoys. (Arson guy also didn’t have that).

The color of visible skin makes little difference anyways, it doesn’t give any definitive identifying information. If decoys can make themselves look green, Troll can also disguise himself to look healthy.

a certain Hancock scene comes to mind regarding this situation although Ethan lacks the physical power to recreate it.

He also greatly lacks the speed to catch and keep the hand on the trigger.

I’m pretty sure its been established an arrow could do it, but unless Ethan ‘Analog’ is close he hasn’t got the speed to beat the falling/fallen hand opening.

Have we ever been given an actual range limit on how far those arrows can be spawned in? I know we’ve seen D-Pad make them a fair distance more than once. If it’s just a matter of line of sight he could just use a pair of binocs, but if there is a hard range limit then yeah.

Y’all are seriously assuming that that thing isn’t just a fancy red light, huh? The real trigger is held by another person monitoring remotely.

The fun part of the troll is you never know with absolute certainty that he is indeed trolling. And when it’s possible he isn’t trolling and that fancy red light is indeed a detonator, you can’t take chances. Not when lives are on the line. I’m sure law enforcement is doing their best to either determine its all an act or to defuse / disable the bombs, but that’s gonna take some time. Especially when they can’t risk letting the troll know that he’s losing his bargaining chip. Because If the troll finds out the popo are taking his hostages,… Read more »

I mean, 90% of the time Joker’s whole thing is “what if somebody with impenetrable plot armor was ruining your life every day?” Which, to be fair, has a certain symetry with Batman most of the time.

Because the Troll is a narcissist and after losing his last face to face meeting with Analog he has to win this one.

Daniel

He just has to win, no matter how it is rationalised.

Embarrassing Analog in front of the world without even showing up himself would absolutely count as a win here. As long as he feels like he’s in control and Analog is coming off worse he’s happy.

But from a story perspective eventually there has to be a confrontation. Not sure that this is it, but eventually, it will be the Troll.

Sure, it’s possible it’s someone else.
But considering that (as far as we are aware) nobody knows he’s green now, I highly doubt an imposter would be painted green.

The hospital staff would know he’s green, thus the police would too.

Until they figure out if there is any hostages and/or the detonator in his hand is a dud, the snipers and Analog cannot do anything without being cancelled by the media.

Is it really being ‘canceled’ by the media if you carelessly get hostages killed.

Ethan said he couldn’t beat him. I wonder if he’s going to use some kind of “don’t feed the troll” strategy?

That would explain the “surrender” title – give in to the taunts, do not feed the troll.

That’d really ruin his plans lol. Out troll the troll.

How troll became green…

My guess is that the goop is for himself, not for Analog. He wants Analog to throw him off the roof into goop again, to make anything said about him earlier true. Like the Batman’s Joker he’s not out for a body count, which is merely a means to an end. He’s out to murder character. An image. And all else failing, just Analogs mental health and identity. He might’ve heard Analog’s guilt monologue when in a coma, using it now against him.

I doubt theirs a chemical truck parked outside the building again, if anything the police set up those big inflatables to catch falling people.

Question Tim, and if this has been asked already I apologize. But I picture whenever the Troll says LOL, he’s not laughing, he’s actually saying L-O-L. Am I correct in this?

I still say that if the troll doesn’t know analog’s power is respawn the best way to take him by surprise is to give him what he says he wants, a public apology, and then throw himself off the roof to his “death” as restitution. If the respawn power is not a known factor for the trolls plans, the suddenness of the action and the respawn itself could give ethan the edge he needs to get the element of surprise.
