The Campaign: Against The Clock

April 21, 2017 by Tim

Since Four will have a limited role to play in this story (on account of being comatose due to poison), I thought I’d at least let her be a pain in the ass at the table.

I like Four – favourite of the group! Being a pain in the ass at the table is totally the best thing to be when you’re down for the (temporary) count.

I really appreciate the blend of legitimate storytelling with wacky table antics in this series.

Okay, so I’m a bit confused. Are they actually in the game? In all their comics, D&D and otherwise, I’ve always been confused. I know that they’re shown as themselves ingame so we know who they are, but sometimes they do things or act in a certain way that makes me think they are. They do have a “respawn chamber”, so I know we aren’t exactly working with 100% realism. For example: http://cad-comic.com/comic/the-campaign-theres-no-i-in-rpg/ I know it’s a weird question, and it doesn’t really matter, but I was just wondering if I was alone in thinking that maybe they are in… Read more »

Okay, that’s kind of what I thought. I don’t know, I guess I just thought that with all the respawning it seemed plausible that they subvert reality in other ways. I’d like to think that since they got their start as being characters in video games, maybe for them games are so immersive that they were actually in it. To me, it seemed like a Calvin and Hobbes set of logic sometimes they’re actually in the game, and sometimes Hobbes is just a stuffed tiger.
Thanks for responding, Tim, that really made my day.

I remember that one as “the one where we find out that Four can actually be emotionally scarred”.

Recently read about a store getting all Mario Kart themed in preparation of game release. The way article was written was surprising.

Is Mario Kart themed store bad idea? Not sure why news look at it negatively. What, they expect customers to throw around blue shells when getting to cash register?
