The Starcaster Chronicles 08.04

February 12, 2021 by Tim

The Kickstarter has passed our first stretch goal, unlocking bookmarks to be included with every 3-book set!

Our next stretch goal is fast approaching, which will unlock a set of three adorable Console War stickers. Lookit how cute they are!

Also, I’m still crunching some numbers and triple checking before I announce anything, but I think I’m going to have some good news for a lot of our overseas backers, re: shipping costs.

I could recap it for you, or you just go back a few panels.

Third panel sums it up pretty good

Everyone’s looking for starcaster and they have chosen not to side with any fraction but flee instead

His name is not Baby Yoda, its Grogu. The “Yoda’s species” annoyingly has not been identified yet so referring to “The Child” as an infant of the Yoda’s Spiecies is correct, but Grogu is not a younger version of Yoda. I just wanted that to be clear and not trying to be condescending. Also Tim I saw the comment from that troll hating on your art because you drew two girls. You already understand this, but it bears reminding. Please don’t feed the trolls. A simple ‘bye Felicia’ would have been a great slam. I’ve not always agreed with your… Read more »

“Three days”… relative to what? Three XC-16834A days? Three “Earth” days? Three Pluto days (which is equivalent to 19.2 Earth days)?

I’m sure that in a pan-galactic society, they understand the difference between a ‘local day’ and an ‘off-world’ day, and probably have a universally agreed upon ‘galactic standard day’ which meshes up with the biorythm of most intelligent creatures. After all, there are no ‘days’ on a starship but you’ll need to measure time all the same.

I’m sure that, seeing as Cort’s just waking up and doesn’t know where they are, the obvious measure would be the base unit of measure, the standard day.

For the reader’s convenience, narrative imperative implies using standard earth days unless specified otherwise.

(Before you downvote this comment, please read all of it!) Just checking in, but not for the comic. Yup I am quite vocal about not liking Starcaster Chronicles. However, I do care about the artist and just wanted to let Tim know that I appreciate his work and efforts to keep us all entertained. Entertained for free that is, refering to those of us (unfortunately myself included) that have been coming here for years without forking over a dime. With that said, I felt the least I could do is thank Tim for his efforts and wish him and his… Read more »

I would chip in to get you as a backer on his new kickstarter campaign. I can’t afford it to do it all but if we find some other willing soul I would be glad to help out with a part of the cost 🙂

Hi Chouffeke. I really appreciate the thought, but it’s not about chipping in It’s about me putting in my own contribution. Nevertheless the sentiment is heartwarming!

Ok, I came to the comment section mostly for the fun of it. I definitely didn’t expect a sudden (though not entirely unwelcome) emotional roller coaster ride.
Well, I think everyone here would agree that Tim deserves appreciation, both moral and monetary in nature.

P.S.
That said, it all seems a bit DODGY :p

I wasn’t planning on purchasing 2.0, as I originally backed 1.0. But my financial situation stabilized recently, so I have donated on your behalf.

Oh but that was not my intent! While I immensely appreciate the gesture, this does not absolve me from making my own contribution. Nevertheless, thank you very much!
