They implied that last page. Iirc it was Quel who asked the other caster bearer if they could use their caster to track other caster and the gal has been trying to do so. I expected him to realize so now a big question is if Quel will admit this ability to Cort. Not sure what punishment he would face for divulging such info.

Minor background quibble: So what Are the tongues of goriv and the significance of swearing on them? If a plot point later on all good, but if not addressed may want to tell the audience whether it’s ‘I swaer on my next meal.’ to ‘I swear on the most sacred thing in my religion.’
Given the context it seems safe to assume it’s just some general sacred thing to invoke. He’s trying to sound serious, so it should be some kind of ‘important’ thing at least.(probably religious, possibly something else). Background details like this don’t really need to a be a plot point if the general meaning is clear enough. We also don’t know exactly how long a ‘vall’ is, or if ‘fiery nebula’ refers to some space phenomenon or an actual equivalent of Hell. Those specifics aren’t that important. Arguably it could be(come) a plot point if it does turn out to mean… Read more »
Or even just a general “Oh shit, *that’s* what happening” from realizing how they might’ve gotten here if they didn’t follow him. And foreseeing the upcoming sh*tstorm between needing to
-convince Cort that this is not a betrayal.
-convince Cort to come peacefully.
-convince the incoming Fed Hunting Squad (+Starcaster wielder) that things can (still) be resolved peacefully, despite the all previous encounters demonstrating otherwise.
-Potentially convince the Feds that he was legitimately trying to help find/secure the Starcaster and wasn’t secretly aiding galaxy-wide fugitive Cort in hiding from them.
As others have noted, it is more likely that the other starcaster wielder can sense the use of a starcaster. It was sort of referenced by her last appearance by ‘sensing’ the enemies fleet. It is more likely she’s being generous and not sensing the fleet, but the starcaster. Assuming the enemy starcaster wouldn’t leave the fleet, you track one with the other. I’m pretty sure a connection between starcasters has been mentioned before as well. Cort has been using the starcaster to practice. It’s likely she’s tracking this signal, mistaking Corts use of the lost starcaster for the enemies… Read more »
Hey, I was wrong, it IS the same system! (I mean, it’s obvious in hindsight, but still)
I hope this means Quel joins the party.
Tracker in Quel’s ship?
I’d bet the federation Starcaster bearer detected Cort’s Starcaster when he was training and took the fleet to investigate.
Or the Captain Marvel starcaster could sense the use of Corts starcaster?
I get the feeling this is leading up to a Patreon decision point……

I prefer the ambiguity, compared to what I see in many other works of fiction: endless inconsistency/retcons
One might assume that “Oh Fel-ca” is the same thing as “Oh shit…”? As in “Did I get followed?” or “Did they put a tracker on this ship?”.
Or even just a general “Oh shit, *that’s* what happening” from realizing how they might’ve gotten here if they didn’t follow him. And foreseeing the upcoming sh*tstorm between needing to

This is not a good day for Quel.
It’s dre*dstorm. Not sh*tstorm.
I think Tim just took a few steps to turn shit into fel-ca and make it sound more alien.
Shit -> Fecal
Fecal -> Felca
Felca -> Fel-ca
Quel keeps trying to do the right thing and is getting no help from fate
Fel-Ca could be the normal name for the Lance Major?
I believe that last comment basically says “…oh, shi–“
im going to assume some censoring was needed on that last word…
Ignore this comment, I realized I missed something.
Well now I cannot ignore it. >:(
I mean, Fel-ca shares the letters of fecal, which could have Quel saying “oh shit” so there’s that…
Oh oh/ Quel forgot to turn off his homing signal….
