Stop acting like a B, Ethan. That’s a kid, doing community service (which in other words means he probably did more than you did as a kid in his age), be nice to him.^^
Also that Mom sounds cool, hope we can see her in the comic and that she is some sort of badass housewife, perfect in sewing, cooking, cleaning and beating up bad guys during the shopping runs. XD

the mom turns out to be the love of his life from that other universe that was way better than this series

Yeah I agree that would be an excellent plot twist.

Shouldn’t they be returning that handbag?

Honestly this just sounds like another member of the team to me. Like hey! move Video Game heroes! you can start your own Super-leauge with enough of those!

There’s something going on here… I don’t think “vigilantism” counts as community service anywhere, it’s technically a crime IIRC. And it’s kind of messed up that his mother sends him to stop crime at night.

The kid himself is cool BTW, and they certainly should make him part of the team. Lucas should explain him why secret identities are important, and I wouldn’t in good conscience allow a teen to superhero around by his own. He seems to be powerful, and having him around would make him an asset instead of a potential issue. Plus he lives close by.

Not in this universe; Omnitropolis has laws protecting caped vigilantes. Depending on what the rest of the world is like, I’m sure his actions *could* be seen as community service.

That depends on the bylaw on that matter. However, seeing that the kid (who is chatting in front of a criminal who can hear him) is not murdering people, he would likely end up a government agent if a Civil War was to erupt.

This kid is just friggin’ adorable. Tim, he *needs* to be a recurring character.

I absolutely die laughing at the idea that hiding out, waiting for crimes, and punching people constitutes Community Service in this town. “I mean, sure I could volunteer at countless shelters/charities, but that’s booooring”

Also, who the heck is still committing street crimes when there’s so many vigilante’s that they’re competing for territory to take you down? Just leave the old lady alone man, her $12 and 3 year old Werther’s aren’t worth the cranial trauma.

Great series, love the new kid. πŸ™‚

So I don’t get it, is there a reference in his superpower? Like how old games froze if you touched the cartridge?

I’m guessing it’s a reference to a “pause” function in a game? (Which iirc worked off the “start” button on a gameboy)

Well, Ethan, at least you can say with confidence that you are not a Greyjoy.

Speaking of which, I wonder if Lucas 2.0 is also a fan of that really obscure series, A Song of Ice and Fire, that his 1.0 incarnation liked? If I recall correctly, he declared for House Stark, but something about Lucas 2.0 makes me think he’d fit in with the Martells.

I’m hoping Lucas’ background actions are building to him asking about this kid’s powers, because I needs to know.

This kid is awesome. I’m just picturing him teaming up with Ethan and Lucas, and they are all set to go storm a villain’s lair, and he’s like “wait guys, my mom said I have to be home early, it’s a school night”

Id really love it if this plotline ends up with Lucas, Scott and also Ethan mentoring a rising teen hero group of really powerful but immature kids for a while and then the last page of this plotline is a “future newspaper” article (you just know who would write it) about “insert badass team name that has to do with videogames here” saving the world, complete with a picture of all of the kids in adult form with somewhat redesigned costumes. so basically our small time heroes are the mentors to the new big superheroes that constantly save the world.… Read more »

Ethan is being a dick! A total douche about this, he needs to back off! I like the Gameboy kid, he’s making sense. Hope to see more πŸ™‚

The sad part is colleges are really that competitive you gotta be a literal superhero to get in some of them at times.
