Console Wars

We left off with this story here.

I was a bit on the fence about this one… I pressed pause on this in the middle of a combat scene because it had been running for a few weeks, and I knew we were a little over a week away from a few weeks of The Evil Within storyline at the time. I didn’t want three weeks of story to bleed into another three weeks of different story, so I opted to pause the Console War to do a few one-shots.

It was my intention to pick up right where we left off shortly after the Campaign storyline ended. It was already written and penciled.

The goal was/is to show some PS4 soldiers for a little adventure, then swap over and follow some XB1 troops for a bit, and so on and so forth, giving each faction equal time in the spotlight. After getting my busted PS4 on Friday however, I was really tempted to just rush in and write that into the Console War. It felt weird to continue showing a battle that the PS4s were winning, while I and many others are on the receiving end of bricked consoles.

Ultimately, I chose to keep this scene as I’d originally written it. I decided I didn’t like the idea of just abandoning a story I’d started, and frankly, it’s not fair to jump to conclusions about this PS4 Dickpunch of Sadness. There will be plenty of opportunity to write it into the Console War once we have some more information about it. What caused it, how widespread it really is, etc.

So I’ll finish this encounter as I wrote it a few months ago, and then we’ll see what new developments have taken place once the consoles of them have finished launching. For all we know the XB1’s will have malfunctions as well.

In the meantime though, the shirts I teased a couple of months ago are finally up in our store!
