Hello, from the moon

March 30, 2005 by Tim

So just a heads up, this is going to be my last transmission until next week. I shall be incommunicado throughout the weekend. The reason for this is that it’s my birthday on Sunday and I will be turning 24. As such, we are having a big weekend-long party to celebrate that I’ve survived for 24 years without falling down some stairs and breaking my neck or getting my face caught in a blender. It’s going to be pretty big… webcomic artists from all around the east coast are making the trip, and I’ve even got friends coming down from Canada, eh? We’ll see how many people we can cram into my apartment.

Friday night we’re all going to see Sin City, for which I cannot even properly describe my anticipation. What was originally harsh skepticism about bringing Frank Miller’s beloved graphic novels to the screen turned into pure enthusiasm after I saw the first trailer. It’s been called “The most faithful comic adaption of all time”, and if you’ve read ‘That Yellow Bastard’, ‘The Hard Goodbye’ or ‘The Big Fat Kill’, you know this is a wonderful thing.

On Saturday we’re planning to hit up a nearby establishment that offers not only go-karts, but Lazer Tag in the same building. I would have opted for paintball, but it’s still a little cold outside, and I don’t know of any worthy indoor arenas here.

Of course, all of this will be surrounded by hour upon hour of Halo 2, Burnout 3, maybe some Brothers in Arms and definitely as much Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory as I can manage. And movies, and eating and general rowdiness.

So as you can tell, it’s going to be a pretty busy weekend. So I will be spending the next couple of days getting ready, cleaning the apartment, etc. Comics will update as usual, I’ve already got them all finished.

And I’m sure I’ll be taking breaks to practice my Chaos Theory skills. I’ll be sure to take lots of pictures for you guys, and I’ll be around again on Monday!
