Technology, wow!

I suppose as someone who makes it a point to stay on top of what is happening in the wonderful world of video games, it can be easy for me to forget that not everyone craves this level of complete knowledge of what has been, what is, and what soon will be.

So when my best friend came up from New York this past weekend, the person with whom I used to spend every waking hour gaming with, the very activities that inspired this comic strip… when he came up and said to me that he had seen not one screenshot or video of an Xbox 360 game and had no clue what the deal was with the system, I was a bit taken aback.

So I sat down with him for about an hour with a plethora of media to educate him about the next generation systems. I wish I had had this, which is a nice little collection of some of the finer games coming to the 360.

I preordered my 360 the day preorders went live. I bought one of those package deals from EBGames. I know EBGames will soon turn into GameStops, and I grew up with Electronics Boutique, so I want to send them my patronage as often as possible before they disappear.

The bundle comes with all of the standard games I imagine everyone will have to have at launch. Project Gotham, Perfect Dark, Dead or Alive. The fourth game was Kameo, which I wasn’t too sure about, until I started reading some of the latest news and screenshots about it. I mean, it is a Rare game, so chances are it will be pretty damned good.

The sooner it gets here, the better. I think my Xbox is on its last legs, after (4?) years of hard use.
