Thank you sir, may I have another?

Some pretty nifty announcements at the VGA awards over the weekend.

A sequel to The Force Unleashed is in the works. I was surprised at how far they went into messing with the Star Wars canon with the original game (and the subsequent DLC), so it will definitely be interesting to see what Starkiller has gotten up to since then.

If it were me, I might have taken the franchise name, and chosen a new character to focus on, preferably in an entirely different time period. That’s because I’m not a fan of Star Wars always trying to cram more and more into the same small window of time, when they have such a huge universe and timeline to play in.

We’re also lined up for a sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum, which was a bit of a surprise to me. It’s completely obvious from nearly every sense, the game was a financial and critical success. I’m surprised anyway because honestly, I didn’t think we’d be that lucky. I figured that Rocksteady would move onto something else, or if we did get a sequel, it would be handed off, a la KOTOR2.

Good show, Rocksteady. Looking forward to seeing your work with the sequel. Though, after that one is finished, how about giving Green Lantern the “awesome video game” treatment?
