The Irish Car Bomb

March 17, 2006 by Tim

Every year on Saint Patrick’s day, I make it a point to tell anyone who may not know, how to make an Irish Car Bomb. Because I’m a mean sonuvabitch. If you’ve never downed an Irish Car Bomb… well, I like to think there is just nothing quite like it. It’s definitely an experience. Everyone should try it at least once in their life.

Take a shotglass. Mix about half Jameson Irish Whiskey with about half
Bailey’s Irish Cream. Layer it in the shotglass so the Bailey’s is on
the bottom.
Take a pint glass and fill it 3/4 of the way with Guinness. Let the
beer settle, and then carefully drop the shotglass into the beer and
chug it all like there’s no tomorrow. If you don’t drink it fast
enough, it will curdle and taste worse and worse, so down it quick!

Also be careful not to crack the shotglass against your teeth when chugging. And if you’re ever in Ireland, don’t call this an “Irish Car Bomb”. Order it as a “Depth Charge”.

Only attempt this drink if you are of legal drinking age in your
country. And drink responsibly!
Best of luck!
