Bombs away

June 9, 2004 by Tim

You know, if I never again have to read, or even look at any of my first one hundred and fifty strips, I will be pleased. However I know that’s not going to happen.

I know it’s not going to happen because I finished the book this morning. After one last 36 hour work session with no sleep, and after getting everything layed out, and then proofreading it in the computer, and then printing out every single page and proofreading it there, and making corrections and then reprinting out the pages, and going over and over the book looking for mistakes and whatnot, I finally packaged the book materials up and FedExed them overnight to the printer.

*Kicks the book in the ass on its way out the door*

I should recieve my proofs in a couple of days, at which point I will have one last chance to read over the book and catch any mistakes (at this point which will cost me money to fix) before the book goes to print.

Anyhow, I’ve got a whole lot to talk about, but I only took a short two-hour nap earlier, gathering just enough energy to complete today’s strip, as I promised you I would. I’m sorry again that it’s so late today. I’ve got so much to do still, and so much to talk about here. But not right now. Not tonight. I need to sleep.

Thank you for all the emails of support. I don’t think I can answer them all, but I am certainly reading them all.

Also on a closing note, I believe that Monday may be the last day for pre-orders. I need to start gearing up to receive and ship them, which is going to be an absolutely enormous ordeal.

I may open ordering up again before the book starts shipping, but Monday will probably be the last chance to get a signed copy. I’m going to be signing books until my hand falls off as it is.

If you can’t order by Monday, don’t worry. The book will be for sale indefinitely. You can also go down to your local book store/comic book shop and have them pre-order it out of this month’s Previews catalogue if you want.

I go sleep now.
