DDO GameDay Server

April 22, 2006 by Tim

We’ll be playing on Fernia. Start your character’s surname with ‘Cad’ so it’s easy to identify eachother. Create your character, and then progress through the newbie island, which is mostly tutorial and solo content that will teach you the game. After you’re done, take the boat to Stormreach, and hang out in the harbor where […]

I’ll be posting the server we’re playing on shortly before the event starts at 4pm. However, I had forgotten that you can choose a surname for your character. So rather than ask everyone to use ‘Cad’ in their first name (which I realize would get confusing trying to differentiate people), use it to start your […]

Speaking of cool computer stuff…

This new device from Matrox is pretty spiffy. Unfortunately it’s analog only, not DVI, and the picture quality suffers just a little bit. But damn, having that much peripheral vision in video games is gorgeous. World of Warcraft recently patched in support, and Oblivion works with it right out of the box. Crazy!

GameDay Forum

by Tim

I made a special board on the CAD Forums just for the GameDays. I thought it would be easier to keep track of everything, past and future GameDays, and also discuss with other people participating in the GameDay.

DDO Gameday

by Tim

How convenient. Dungeons and Dragons Online is offering a 7-Day free trial. (also here) So I’m going to hold a GameDay tomorrow and we’ll play DDO. If you already play DDO, that’s cool too, you’re all set. Otherwise, you need to get all set up for the trial. You have a day to get that […]

Here we go

by Tim

So I wasn’t sure what I was going to talk about for today’s newspost. The comic pretty much exists in it’s own little world of my twisted parody imagination, and doesn’t beg a discussion. The only games I’m playing right now are games that have been out for ages. Can you believe I’m playing God […]

Citrus gets clobbered

April 19, 2006 by Tim

See? He went about calling himself “Mookie”, and I had to take my size 11’s to his head.

So the Guitar Hero sequels have been announced… I’m dedicating this comic to my pal Citrus Kennedy Biscuit Jones the Third. Citrus is a great friend, and one of the most metal people I know. And he’s a die-hard Guitar Hero fan. And if he tries to tell you his name is anything other than […]

And a serious link

April 17, 2006 by Tim

Head on over to Brian’s site, and read his last newspost (it’s at the bottom). Your help and email powers are needed.

This is pure gold. I can figure out most of the movies he took clips from, the Hulk is pretty obvious, but it’s really clever and well assembled.

Tom Brazelton does Theater Hopper, which is to movies as CAD is to video games. I’ve known Tom since back when I was a member of Dayfree Press. He recently emailed me that he’s releasing his first book. He’s trying to cover the printing costs by accepting preorders, and trust me, I know how nerve-wracking […]

Normally I don’t do this, but I know there are a good chunk of readers outside of the U.S. who haven’t seen the Allstate insurance “good hands” ad campaign. Hell, I’m sure there are some people here stateside who haven’t seen them. Anyway, here’s an example. You know, for reference. I do usually try to […]

Actually, scratch that

April 15, 2006 by Tim

I just gave the game a spin. The beginning isn’t really conducive to a GameDay like this. Either that or it’s 6am and my attention span is shot to hell. I’ll wait until they do another free trial of some sort so more people can get in on it.

Auto Assault GameDay

April 14, 2006 by Tim

Umm, I think I’m going to do an Auto Assault CAD GameDay tomorrow (Saturday). I don’t have the details yet, but I’ll post those soon. It will probably be sometime around mid-afternoon EST. I played the game at E3 last year, and I haven’t tried it out since. I got a copy and I want […]

Celebutant

by Tim

I hope you’ll pardon my venting a bit. While Paris Hilton has always disgusted me, over the last week or so while renovating my apartment, I would have the TV on in the background and ‘The Simple Life’ would come on. I had managed to have never seen this show before, but after finally being […]

Outdated

Battlefield 2. Err, I mean, Battlefield 2 Modern Combat. Wouldn’t want anyone getting confused. I played it even after I said I wouldn’t, and just as I suspected, I wasn’t impressed. It’s not that it’s a bad game, I just don’t find it as fulfilling as the PC predecessor. I’ll be honest with you though, […]
