The Starcaster Chronicles 06.20

June 29, 2018 by Tim

Note: I have a Vlog and poll up that I would appreciate feedback on.

LAST CALL FOR AUSTRALIANS AND NEW ZEALANDERS RE: THE CAD BOX SET!

I have roughly 40 copies of the CAD 1.0 Box Set at a warehouse in Australia. From there, Australians and New Zealanders can order the book and pay a fraction of what it would cost to ship it from the US. However, they’ve been sitting there a while and I want to make sure these books get to the people that want them before they’re out of print forever, so Aussies/Kiwis: you have one more week to grab one.

After that, I am going to investigate moving those book sets somewhere with more demand, like the EU/UK to see if we can help lower shipping costs a bit for those readers.

With that out of the way, onto the vote results! You guys were a little unsure of who send to the control room, a pretty close split there. But you definitely felt rushing in for an attack was the right course of action here.

I would have found “Heeeeeeeeere’s Specky!” a little funnier but in the end it is the same reference so who cares.^^

As a UK reader I would happily take one of those Box sets, 39 to go!

Set in a warehouse in Australia? You have any idea what the shipping would end up at?

Another UK reader here Tim. At the moment the shipping is unfortunately almost double the cost of the set
If you were able to ship a bunch together to reduce shipping I too would be very interested.
38 to go!

How many incidents involving mimions burning holes straight to the artificial gravity generators do you think they had before mimions had safe transportation?

Probably very few since it’d be hard for them to get off the planet in the first place before they found that metal that they can’t dissolve.

Okay, that all was WAY more seventies horror movie themed than I’d have normally anticipated. Did you have the original Halloween playing in the background for some reason when you made this, Tim? Or maybe a copy of The Shining?

Bwahaha. All this Shining comments. Very cool. I definetly want a “Like” button in the comment section.
And I really like the way things are going….so far xD

This alien also has eyes on the back of her head. That or when Nyrah finally gets the chance to start training Cort she might want to also help improve his ability to sneak up on people, think he needs it. :p

I think in this case, it’s following the rule “the war must listen in all directions” – That hair would block the line of sight, wouldn’t you think?

*ear, not war! My bad.

I think she didn’t actually notice Cort as such, she just realized it was a trap. Distract from the front and attack from behind is a classic strategy after all. It makes sense to look behind you if you suspect an attack is coming.

I had thought that it was more of a “Wait, you’re an Odrossian… that means-!” sort of thing. I mean, they do mention at times that Nyrah isn’t exactly inconspicuous.

Yeah, she seems good at her job. I *really* wasn’t expecting that classic trick to fail (even briefly), so I’m in awe of panel 3. Such a badass move, and then a professional surrender demand…

War, ear….hell, man, that saying works either way, in my opinion. It’s just a little more extensive the war way.

Still a mono-boob, the extra hands have always been on the outside of her shirt.

We could see the extra hands before, they poke through the shirt. That discussion was in referance to the buldge mid chest. You can see a bit of darker red peaking out above her shirt and undershirt/bra right where the brestbone on a human is.

The ‘Help help my arm’ schtick was inspired. Red alien chick gives it 4 thumbs up (Or she will later)

This is what I was thinking, I guess it is not to soon to talk about her losing her arm. Kinda funny.

Speck.
Speck who?
Speculate that you’ll do what I want unless you like being melted.

So far so good, nobody is dead yet, Nyrah is even using her missing arm as a distraction and as I expected her legs are still good for some kicks. And ofc there is no door that can stop Speck. xD

Yeah, I’m liking this setting and story better than anything else I’ve seen on CAD over the years.

I really like the explanation as to why so many races are so similar to each other, because a lot of them were made after their creator, the Aug. Way better than in Star Trek where all aliens look humans yet nobody questions why the heck they all do look so similar, head, torso, a pair of arms and legs and that’s it.

that was actually answered… and its the same kind of thing some human loooking aliens with big brains scatttered their genes whatever allover i think they where the founders of the first federation or some such

How funny would it be if like in thousand or two thousand years we find evidence of that being true and that we share similarities with a lot of alien races due such creator aliens. xD

Re Australian box sets- I would have loved to purchase one, but the pricing is very high given the weakness of the Australian dollar. $100USD is $135Australian dollars- for context, that’s roughly a day’s wages. I’ve now left Australia so less relevant to me, but I think that if movement has been slow, it’s attributable to pricing.
