Experience

July 14, 2006 by Tim

Going to see A Scanner Darkly tonight, and I’m psyched. There’s a 24 minute preview (ie, the first 24 minutes of the film) available at IGN, which was outstanding. I’m not going to link it directly, because it contains nudity, and while I don’t run a site for children, the last thing I feel like dealing with this weekend is some loud-mouthed mother giving me an earful because I directed her child to “porn”. But you are all resourceful beings, and I am sure if you desire, you can find it without my help.

But I caught Dead Man’s Chest earlier this week, and I loved it. It frustrated me a little bit in a couple of parts… I’ll mention them in a seperate post so that in case it contains minor spoilers, it will be easier for people who haven’t seen the film to avoid. But overall I really enjoyed it.

One of my favorite parts of the night, though, was the trailer for Rocky 6. I love Rocky. We probably don’t need a sixth Rocky… hell, we probably didn’t need five. But I don’t care. I’ll take as many as they want to make. Rocky 5 sucked, but it was still Rocky. Give me geriatric Rocky. Wheelchair boxing Rocky. I’ll go see it. Gonna Fly Now (the Rocky theme) gets my blood charged. I love it.

The guys over at Panogames have posted some Prey panoramic screens. If you haven’t checked out Panogames, you really should. Their screenshots are awesome. These guys are great. A while back they took one of my comics and made it a panoramic experience. I don’t think I ever linked it, because I’m a forgetful jerk like that. They were using the low-res comics from the site, but it still turned out great. Though if you were trying to read the whole archives this way, you might get dizzy, it’s still a really cool way to view the comic! Let me know what you think.

Also, the sixth (holy crap, six already?!) episode of the Ctrl+Alt+Del animated series was posted a couple of weeks ago. It’s the first half of a two-parter, something we haven’t tried before, and the reception was outstanding across the boards.

And to answer a frequently asked question, yes, the animated series will be coming to DVD by “season”. However, we’ll be offering the DVD at a discount to yearly subscribers. But if you don’t have access to subscribe, rest assured that they will be made available in high definition DVD format eventually.
