Q&A

April 10, 2006 by Tim

I’ve been pretty distracted over the last week or so. I know it. I haven’t been very present here or in CAD Premium, and for that I apologize. In checking my email, I’m seeing a few questions arising often, so I thought I might take a moment and throw out some answers here. Q. Is […]

Hey guys, thanks for all the emails about Kaylee, and for being ok with my skipping the front page news on Friday. Kaylee is a little bundle of joy, and she’s a very sweet puppy. I’ll get some more pictures up on my journal this week. In the meantime, Tomb Raider Legend hits tomorrow, and […]

No real news!

April 7, 2006 by Tim

Sorry guys, no real “news” post for today. Instead… puppy! Her name is Kaylee. She’s a 10 week-old Yorkshire Terrier. We picked her up yesterday. So it’s Friday, and I’m pretty distracted today. I’m going to get tomorrow’s comic finished, and then relax for the weekend. See you on Monday!

So much to be done

April 5, 2006 by Tim

From the emails I’ve been getting so far, the wonderful smell of a new video game is something many gamers savor. I’ve heard a few different theories, that the smell comes from plastic softeners used on the case (what?), or the chemical residue from pressing the disc with bountiful digital entertainment. Or perhaps the ink […]

Hehe, gotcha

April 3, 2006 by Tim

The new Tomb Raider hits most platforms next week. I’ve posted my first impressions over on CADMedia, and you can grab a PC demo if you’re inclined to try it yourself. I must say, I was rather surprised at how many people got caught by my April Fools gag on Saturday. I don’t usually do […]

Only three years in the making…

March 31, 2006 by Tim

So I guess my big news for today is that CADMedia is finally live. Well, technically it went live late Wednesday night, but there were still a couple of bugs to be worked out, so I wasn’t shouting it from the rooftops. But it appears to be running fairly stable now (we’ll find out once […]

Rockin’ out

March 29, 2006 by Tim

I’m feeling a little bit better today. The congestion is subsiding. Thanks for the well wishes! I think by now I’ve played just about enough Oblivion to faithfully report on the game, and my review for that will be up a bit later. The folks at Red Octane (the makers of Guitar Hero), have mentioned […]

It wants to eats my brains!

March 27, 2006 by Tim

Gonna make this short and sweet today. I’m battling a bit of a head cold (heh, almost typed head crab there. “You know you’re a gamer when…”) and I want to try and get some rest to prevent it from getting worse. This is a really nifty website that displays panoramic screenshots of video game […]

Yay

Wow, another very successful GameDay. I’m becoming addicted. That was a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone who came out to play, and thanks to Valkyrie and Chiprel and gang for setting up a great server for us to play on, and for showing us noobs the ropes. I’m taking a break, but the server […]

Some members of the Savage community have put up a server for us to use. We’ll just use that so you can keep playing together even after I stop. Server name: CTRL ALT DEL Online Server IP: 216.15.252.190Password: ethan It is a public server, though, so you may want to put CAD in front of […]

Updated Ok, I’m cleaning up this post a little bit. I think some people were getting confused with all the links I was posting. I want to make sure everyone is using the same version of the game, to minimize problems with connecting this afternoon. I also want to address the “freeware/not freeware” issue. Here […]

Everything in its right place

March 24, 2006 by Tim

A demo for Blazing Angels is now on Xbox Live. I downloaded it and gave it a spin, and I wasn’t all that impressed. Don’t get me wrong, the graphics and controls are superb. The subject matter was just a little… blah, for me. It might have just been the demo content. If anything was […]

Call of Duty Multiplayer- Finally

March 22, 2006 by Tim

Call of Duty on the 360 has finally been patched. There is a report that lists some of the confirmed features, and I’ll repost them here to make your life easier. Can actually host a game now. Lobbies fully implemented including game options and pre-game smack talk. Hoster can kick players. Private matches are allowed. […]

Battlefield 2142 has been officially confirmed. There were a lot of you that thoght it was some hoax. Nope. Later this year, we’ll be driving mechs, baby. This amuses me greatly. I’m well into Oblivion by now. I think another day or two should suffice, and then I can write a nice review for you. […]

Oblivion Character Creation

March 21, 2006 by Tim

So there’s a demo out there for Singular Inversions’ FaceGen software that you can grab. It’s a really nifty demo. You can manipulate different faces to all sorts of degrees, and it’s a lot of fun to play with. You can also upload photos and have it create a 3D model from the photographs. It’s […]
