I need to put together a second CAD picture pack of gamerpics for Xbox Live. Drop me a line and let me know what characters you’d like to see in it, or even if there’s any specific artwork you’d like to see as a gamer pic.
We’ve announced a few more Digital Overload tournaments. Gears of War 4v4 and Texas Hold’Em are back from last year, and Armagetron, which has been at Digital Overload the past 2 years, finally gets an official tournament. Additionally the Gaming United crew, under their new business name Game Overdrive, will be joining us for the […]
I was debating whether to comment on the whole Gerstmann/GameSpot issue, and I think I’ve decided I need to at least make a brief suggestion here. If you’re not familiar with the situation, senior editor at GameSpot Jeff Gerstmann was fired last week. Now, no official details have been released as to why, but some […]
Woops, looks like the whole first batch of the Forever Cube T-shirt is sold out already. I’m told we’re going to try and get a new batch printed up early next week.
Digital Overload registration. Badges are $45 until the end of December, but you need to register/pay by 11:59pm EST tonight to get a free t-shirt with it. You can still get the t-shirt with your registration tomorrow for an extra $5, but why not save the money, right?
The Church of Gaming and Forever Cube shirts are up in the store and ready to ship. Also, Magnets, which I just think are really neat. Almost like toys, which I’m sure I’ll get around to doing at some point as well.
We’ve announced three new tournaments for Digital Overload 2008 today, Rock Band, Super Smash Bros. Brawl (as long as it makes its release date) and a Magic: The Gathering booster draft. We’ll be announcing the remaining tournaments over the next couple of weeks. Don’t forget if you get your registration/payment in by this Friday (November […]
Just a quick heads up, Friday’s comic is Thanksgiving related, so I just uploaded it to the system for Thursday, so you can have it tomorrow. Happy Thanksgiving. So Rock Band is pretty fun. I do have to say that the drums are tough. And I used to play the drums in high school. So […]
Registration is now open. Remember, you have to have payment submitted prior to December 1st to get the free event t-shirt with your badge.
Assassin’s Creed. Seems like they should have called it Repetition Creed. It’s a fun game, and enjoyable, but at the same time it seems really sloppy when you do the exact same thing for every mission. A) Arrive at city of choice.B) Gain access by blending in with a conveniently placed group of scholars, who […]
Preparation for Digital Overload 2008 has officially begun! We will be opening pre-registration for the event on Monday November 19th for those that want to secure their seat at the event early. Until December 31st, badges will be $45 per person. The badge price raises to $50/person through January, and $55/person from February until the […]
So let’s talk video games, it’s been a big week. Here are my opinions. Lynching some Kane The aiming in Kane and Lynch is pretty much exactly like the Hitman series. This is to say, a little clumsy and not very accurate. Single player (from what I’ve played of it) strikes me this way: Great […]
Got some announcements for you today. First and foremost, on Monday, November 19th we will be launching pre-registration for Digital Overload 2008. Over the next few days we will be adding all of the preliminary event, hotel, tournament and sponsor information for the 2008 event. On Friday at some point I will open the DO […]
They really do put together some pretty attractive trailers for this game.
I’m just going to go ahead and throw this up here for the edification of any who didn’t know, and also to hopefully stem the tide of emails I know I’m going to receive on the subject. Altair is missing a finger on his left hand to accommodate the wrist blade he uses. However CAD […]
That was a lot of fun. It almost had to be canceled on account of Xbox Live issues, a lot of people couldn’t connect, getting the “Downloading Game Settings” stall from beta. It started working about five seconds after I posted that it would be postponed (go figure) and we played for a little over […]
Well, here’s some footage from the Fragile Alliance game mode… that’s something (thanks Daniel).
So the release date for Kane and Lynch got pushed up a week. It’s really six of one, half-dozen of the other. Originally it was scheduled to come out the same day as Mass Effect, now it’s coming out alongside Assassin’s Creed. The more I see of the single player campaign, the more it interests […]
Well, I am alive and recovering just fine. I appear to have lucked out with the whole wisdom-teeth removal process, and so far am experiencing none of the nightmare stuff you read about. Thank you for all of the emails of support, advice and general well-wishing. Went in Friday morning, they started an IV sedation […]
So this will probably be my last newspost for a week or so. I’ve been getting a bunch of comics done in advance, because on Friday morning, I go in to have all four of my wisdom teeth pulled. I imagine my recovery will only take a few days (fingers crossed) but I’ve gone ahead […]
I’m Vithran Canova on Pegasus, if anyone else is around.
So Guitar Hero 3 is… okay. It just feels a little bit, I don’t know, unnecessary. They could (should) have easily added these songs via downloadable content on the marketplace. The wireless guitar is a nice feature, but really it should have already been here with Guitar Hero 2. Also I can’t say I’m a […]
I hate the word “meal”. I have no idea why.
I need sleep. I’m on like eight hours in three days. Newspost way later today. In the meantime, enjoy this awesomeness.
