Black and white

July 7, 2006 by Tim

Sony has a recent history of some really off the wall and offensive advertisements going, but I don’t know if some of you have seen this one. I read about it on Joystiq thanks to a reader pointing it out: Now at first glance, this stands to be a pretty offensive advertisement. That was my […]

Ok, fine, I get it. I suck at haikus. The DMV is still the hemorrhoid on Satan’s asshole.

A haiku?

There is rage in meThe DMV sucks much ballsSo much hate. So much.

Net Neutrality

July 3, 2006 by Tim

Oh good lord. Senator Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) on why he voted against Net Neutrality: There’s one company now you can sign up and you can get a movie delivered to your house daily by delivery service. Okay. And currently it comes to your house, it gets put in the mail box when you get home […]

Doomed

Time to break out your flightsticks, people. Still over a month away, but fast approaching, a little game called Darkstar One is scheduled for release on August 14th. We haven’t been getting many space flight action games in recent years, so if you yearn for a new Wing Commander or Freelancer, Darkstar One is shaping […]

Design on a dime

July 1, 2006 by Tim

I like Everquest 2, I’ve said that in the past. I like that I get a house to put my stuff in. While I’ve never gotten overly into the design and decoration aspect myself, there is a whole subset of EQ2 players for whom this is their bread and butter. The concept of spending hours […]

I had to get up early to drive my girlfriend to the dealership to drop off her car for some maintenance (don’t ask me why she brings it to the dealer, such a waste of money), and I’m stopped at a red light in downtown New Haven. I casually glance out my window, and see […]

Superman has never been my favorite super hero. I like him, don’t get me wrong, but I can think of a dozen heroes I liked better growing up. That said, I don’t know why I was so very excited to see Superman Returns. However, now in hindsight, all of that excitement seems well justified. The […]

That was the most amazing movie I have seen in a long, long time. More with tomorrow’s newspost.

Spider-man 3 Teaser

June 27, 2006 by Tim

A reader just let me know that the very first Spider-man 3 trailer is out. The quality is poor, but I’m told the official copy will be out on Apple Trailers at 2:30ET. If this teaser doesn’t give you goosebumps, you have no soul. Update: Here’s the high quality version.

Wait for it…

June 26, 2006 by Tim

Titan Quest ships this week. I hear good things, but I’m still on the fence about it. I question whether or not I’ve had my fill of ancient mythic gods hack ‘n slash titles with God of War. Maybe Titan Quest will at least require more than the same devastating combo performed over and over […]

Out of season, but…

June 23, 2006 by Tim

That’s one hell of a way to spread the message. God bless our armed forces.

I want to talk about Prey for a moment. This game wasn’t a bright blip on my radar until very recently. I saw it at E3, but didn’t pay attention to it. Sort of like a “Yeah, that looks neat, I– OOH! Dead Rising?!” sort of scenario. But the demo has dropped (for the PC […]

Know your alphabet

June 21, 2006 by Tim

Maddox sent me a copy of his new book, The Alphabet of Manliness. It turned out beautifully. If you like Maddox, or if you hate Maddox, you need this book. It’s chock full of powerful, testosterone-injected information. This is me when I got the book: And this is me five minutes later after reading the […]

I’m sure most gamers are familiar with Uwe Boll. He’s that director that butchers video game movie adaptions that few people cared about in the first place. Recently the internet-wide critisicms of his movies got so loud that he issued a statement challenging his most vocal detractors to a boxing match. “Put up, or shut […]

Bra-Man #1

June 19, 2006 by Tim

My friends over at Least I Could Do are releasing the first issue of their new comic book, Bra-Man #1. Best of luck, guys!

I want to thank you for all the well wishes over the weekend. Apparently a lot of people are getting sick around this time. My girlfriend just got sick, and she thought it was allergies, and then I started getting symptoms. As soon as I felt it coming on, I starting fighting it with my […]

It’s in my head!

June 16, 2006 by Tim

Rawr! Begone, foul head cold! Begone! … *whimper* I think I’m getting sick. Might play BF2 tomorrow if I’m up to it. I’ll decide later tonight. Not a full-fledged GameDay, but if I feel like playing, I’ll post what server I’m on.

Swinging chains

June 14, 2006 by Tim

I beat Hitman the other day, and I was really impressed with the way they carried out the ending. I’d like to see more games with a cinematic flair like that. I don’t see a whole lot of motivation to go back and play on the super difficult modes, but perhaps a month or two […]

Fan Art

June 12, 2006 by Tim

I used to have a fan art section back before the site redesign, and I keep meaning to restablish it when I get time. But this past week I got two pieces of exceptional fan art that I wanted to share with you. I thought you might enjoy them. The first one comes from Tauhid […]

The Battlefield 2 GameDay this weekend was lots of fun. I was only around for a couple of hours, but I had a great squad. Maybe we’ll do it again this weekend. I got my DS Lite, of course. My interest in the DS system was greatly rekindled last month at E3, after seeing/touching/fondling/loving a […]

BF2 GameDay

June 10, 2006 by Tim

Ok, the Battlefield 2 GameDay will start soon. I’m going to be a little bit late, because I overslept like a shmuck, but you guys can go ahead and start playing. Just use “connect to IP” from the multiplayer server menu, and head to : 64.27.28.161 Like I said, I’ll be there soon. See you […]

Where it’s at

June 9, 2006 by Tim

I’ve been hearing a lot lately about this Video Game Rehab clinic opening up over in Europe. Mostly I’m hearing people laughing at it, talking about how ridiculous it is. I don’t agree. I think it’s a pretty good idea. I think some people are so much on the defensive because of Jack Thompson’s over-the-top […]

Baby Vincent

June 8, 2006 by Tim

My good friend and business partner Pierre-Luc and his fiance have just welcomed their first child, Vincent Brunet, into the world. He’s a healthy baby boy and was born on June 7th at about 7:30pm. Everyone is very tired, but the new family is doing well. Congratulations to Pierre and Karine!
