As you may remember, last month we ran a little contest to design a new hero for Heroes of Newerth. David Flax’s Cthulhuphant idea was voted most popular. At that point I brought my concept sketch for Cthulhuphant to the folks at S2Games, and we started designing his abilities and tweaking his final appearance. I’m […]
There are definitely more zombies and more challenging groups a little later on, when you get to the city. Good times. Also, though the game won’t allow me and my co-op buddy to directly bludgeon eachother to death, we have developed a rather destructive little game I’m calling “hide-the-propane-tank-and-then-blow-your-friend-to-a-thousand-pieces.” It’s rather counter-productive, but immensely entertaining.
Dead Island is, so far, a fantastic game. It’s far from a perfect game from a technical standpoint, but it is incredibly enjoyable. If Dead Rising had RPG elements, than Dead Island goes the full nine yards into RPG’dom. There are more quests and sidequests, more items to collect and manage, and a more in-depth […]
Over the past couple of months, and the past few video game/electronics tradeshows, I’ve noticed a weird shift in balance taking place amongst my interests in some upcoming games. Slowly but very surely, I am finding myself more intrigued and more excited by Guild Wars 2 than I am by The Old Republic. When TOR […]
Lots of great new info and trailers coming out of GamesCom this week, like this Guild Wars 2 video. Tags: GameTrailers.com, Guild Wars 2 – GC 11: Epic Struggle Trailer HD, PC Games, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 So far I generally don’t care about Valve’s DOTA2, but EA/Bioware just announced that they’re putting out a […]
Area of Defect released their League of Legends themed album titled last night! You can grab the full, eleven track album from their website. You might also have a shot at winning one of the albums from the LeagueCraft.com giveaway contest! Area of Defect, including Kyle Danger Henick and Joe Homes, are the guys behind […]
Well, after a little over sixty thousand votes, I’ve decided to close the Heroes of Newerth Hero poll! It was an incredibly close race among the top three Heroes, Cthulhuphant (I did another concept sketch you can check out here), Gorge and Durandel, in that order. Thank you all so much for your participation, especially […]
Ok! I’ve finally narrowed it down to my favorite eight Hero ideas, and sketched them up to give you a little visual along with the concept. These are just starting points, and whichever Hero gets chosen will likely go through a number of redesigns before it gets into Heroes of Newerth. Additionally, the ideas for […]
I’ve gone through all the submissions you guys sent in. You all had some really fun ideas, and I enjoyed reading them! I’ve picked out a bunch of them that really jumped out at me, and just absolutely made me want to draw them up, so that’s what I’m going to be working on today. […]
As I mentioned on Friday, the folks are Heroes of Newerth are going to let us come up with the concept for a new hero for the game. For the next twenty-four hours I’ll be taking submissions with your ideas for the hero. Afterwards, I’ll choose my favorites, and sketch them up so that we […]
As I’m sure you remember, last month I started a campaign to reach 10k referrals in League of Legends, so that we could design a champion for the game. I called off the campaign at around 8k referrals, after speaking with Riot games and learning that the 10k referral reward wouldn’t net us what I’d […]
I’ve had my eye on Dragon’s Dogma since I first heard it likened to Monster Hunter. Having followed the game so far, I don’t think that comparison really holds water, but it’s still shaping up to be a pretty nice looking game. Ok, so, last week totally kicked my ass. And it doesn’t look like the next couple of weeks are going to be any kinder. I may neglect the blog/news posts for a while. I’m sure you’re crushed. There isn’t a lot going on for gaming for me right now, aside from League of Legends and […]
Thank you for the well-wished for Simon. He’s been doing pretty well over the last few days, adapting to his medications. He’s getting lots of attention, which he loves. Many moons ago, Brian told me about Earth Defense Force 2017 and how much fun it was. I watched a couple of trailers and decided that […]
Wednesday evening Simon, one of our Yorkies, began to have a seizure. The first of four within a half hour period. Simon had (what we now know to be) a seizure back in February. My fiancee and I were awoken early morning to Simon on the floor next to the bed in visible distress. We […]
Painting, digital or otherwise, has never been my medium of choice, but it’s always something I’ve wanted to spend more time trying to learn. I still couldn’t bring myself to completely break away from the warm, comforting safety of some lines, but it will happen in time. For now, sleep. I’ll make a newspost when […]
